Sugar Cookies adventure
Yes I made my sugar cookies. My 1st cookies of the 5 Days Cookie Challenge. I must be out of my mind. Christmas is just a corner way and I have a thousand of things to do before Christmas. And here I am challenging myself making cookies, I must be out of my head for some reason. Well ... Christmas can be really emotional for some people ... especially me. This Christmas will be the 2nd anniversary of my mom wasn't with us. I suppose it is getting easier but still I get emotional. Don't you get emotional or sentimental for Christmas? I am one of those who get emotional and sentimental for Christmas.
Well ... darling hubby and I do not have children of our own, but he have three sons from his first wife, MJ. Sweet lady. She looks like a movie star with her white dress and black shoes. I am not kidding, she does looking like a movie star. Since all the children are grown up and have their own family, practically only use two here at home for Christmas. We did went home to visit my folks a few years back for Christmas and also to escape from the cold cold winter of Texas. This year we will be just spend time at home and reading, watching Christmas movies, having Christmas cookies, hot chocolate ... A distant niece, not so distant actually, will be coming to spend Christmas with us so we are not going to be "alone" for Christmas after all.
I suppose to make it really Christmasy this house before she came on Saturday but all I can think of is my Cookie Challenge. I must be out of my head. I must be. So how does the 1st Cookie Challenge goes? Did I actually made my 1st cookies? Yes I did and yes I am happy with them. I even try to be completely creative ... if you can call that .... made cookies for the dog too. Hahhahahhaa ... over here at our place, at our country home ... animals are part of the human companion. Yes we do have a dog and a cat. Betsie and Prissy. No ... they lives outside ... we don't have animals in the house. Will try to write about that later. So ... here are the cookies ... tell me if you think they are good enough to eat or are they festive enough with the cinnamon on them or tell me if the cookies for Betsie and Prissy are presentable. Honestly ... I am happy with my 1st cookies. I know they are edible when my darling hubby decided to "steal" some of them last night.

I have to go now .... my 2nd Cookie Challenge is calling me.
What cookies you says? Oh ..... lets see ...I am going to make the Buttery Jam Thumbprint Cookies. I think I love baking with powdered sugar :)
