HQAL Happiness

My niece left on Friday to go back to her school after spending two weeks with us. I am so glad she could come. We had such great time with her. At 8.30PM on Friday she texts us to let us know she arrived safely in Minneapolis. Well ... to be honest, I didn’t even touch any quilting book, magazine, or my sewing machine during her stayed with us.

Did you remembered I mention she wanted me to make her an apron?

Good Luck!

That didn’t happen!

Well I show her some fabrics she might like for her apron but that is as far as I can remembered. On the night before she left, she said she wants me to make her a quilt instead of an apron. Black and white is her choice of colors.

I am so very challenge by her request.

I never though of black and white, just two colors are good in a quilt. I am more of the pastel girl ... so everything are so girly girly at least that what darling hubby opinion.

May be it is a time I am coming out of my comfort zone of colors ... black and white can be a good colors combination for a quilt.

I sincerely take the challenge of making her a quilt, a black and white quilt. When I am going to start ... that is another challenge.

But honestly ... I have no progress to report on my HQAL ladies because I didn’t do anything for the past three weeks or four weeks! Last night, I picked one of my Fat Quarter Bundle and starting to do some ironing on them and my head started to haywire with all the things I can make from this Fat Quarter Bundle.

Serious ... nothing to report on my HQAL progress.

Just be kindly to me ... I have a lot to catch up with you ladies.

I found this Quilts and More pattern accidentally. I must have bought this from a garage sales or someone gave it to me because they can’t find the book to go with it. I saw the owl pattern and I thought it would be a good pattern to make. Pillow cases may be. Just a wall hanging may be.

Eeemmm... that could be another challenge right?

I saw this NO BUY CHALLENGE 2018

Posted on November 29, 2017 by cozyquilts.

Check her out ...

I am planning to take part in that challenge because I have enough fabrics, books and magazine already.

My darling hubby said I can open my own fabric shop and library for the quilters around our area.

How do you like that!

So the NO BUY CHALLENGE 2018 will be good for me... meaning I can just shop at my own “fabric shop”.

Imagine that!

Well ... so what about this HQAL business you might ask.

The rest of the other ladies have their project line up to show off to everyone on January 7, 2018. We are suppose to do the “reporting” every three weeks. Oh my ... what did I do for the past three weeks?

Nothing much ... just cooking, baking, visiting, shopping, eating and sleeping ... not necessarily in that order :)

But I had a great time doing all that especially the cooking, baking and eating part with my niece.

I am feeling sorry for my darling hubby ( he said I am not sorry at all ) because he is not a fancy eater, he don’t shop and going visiting is not his cup of tea either. Poor poor darling hubby. But I am so proud of him ... he drove all the way to my sister in law place and that is about two hours drives.

Ladies of the HQAL ...

I am sorry I don’t have anything to show you this time. May be give me another three weeks and I have something to show off, may not be fancy and “wow ..oohh wooo” moment but something a beginner like me might be able to come out with.

What do you think?

Is this fair enough?

Honestly ladies ... I enjoy reading everyone posting and get inspired by just looking at your posting.

You ladies at HQAL are awesome :)
